CDTA operates year-round, fixed-route public transit service across the greater Glens Falls area. The network spans parts of Warren, Washington, and Saratoga Counties, serving:

Yes, Glens Falls has public transportation provided by the Capital District Transportation Authority (CDTA). CDTA took over Greater Glens Falls Transit in 2024 and now offers fixed-route bus service, summer trolleys, and a regional commuter route to Saratoga Springs.

Riders can travel throughout Glens Falls and nearby communities without needing a car.

  • Route 402: Bay College – between Ridge Street Terminal and SUNY Adirondack
  • Route 404: Hudson Falls / Fort Edward – connects to Amtrak Station
  • Route 405: Moreau / South Glens Falls
  • Route 407: West Glens Falls
  • Route 411: Glen Street / Walmart (Route 9)
  • Route 412: Glen Street / Aviation Mall / Montcalm Apartments
  • Route 419: Route 9 / Lake George Village

Buses operate Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 9:45 p.m. and Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Most routes do not run on Sundays, so plan ahead when traveling on weekends.

Travel Regionally With Route 713 Between Downtown Glens Falls and Saratoga Springs

According to CDTA, Route 713 began operating on August 25, 2025, providing the first direct commuter bus service between Downtown Glens Falls and Saratoga Springs.

  • Operates Monday through Friday
  • Connects Ridge Street Terminal in Glens Falls to the Saratoga Rail Station
  • Travels via I-87 and Route 9
  • Provides access to Amtrak service, jobs, healthcare, and shopping
  • Accepts CDTA’s Navigator fare system

Fare Info and the Navigator System

As of April 1, 2025, CDTA’s Navigator fare system is in use throughout Warren County. Riders can use the Navigator smart card or mobile app to pay fares, with daily and monthly fare caps and reloadable balance features.

Half-fare pricing is available for seniors and individuals with disabilities. Cash is still accepted on buses, but exact change is required.

  • Price Chopper/Market 32 in Queensbury
  • Price Chopper/Market 32 in Lake George

Bikeable Bus Service

All CDTA buses in the region are equipped with front-mounted bike racks. This makes it easy to bring your bike for part of the trip, whether commuting or enjoying a ride along local trails.

CDTA has also installed over 200 new bus stops across the region to improve access and visibility. Plan to arrive 5 to 10 minutes early and signal the bus driver clearly when you want to board.

Take the Seasonal Trolley

During the summer, CDTA operates the Lake George Summer Trolley, which connects downtown Glens Falls to Lake George Village via Route 9. The trolley runs seven days a week during the summer season, starting at the Ridge Street Terminal and stopping at popular points along the way.

CDTA also offers additional seasonal trolley routes serving Bolton Landing and Warrensburg, which operate from Beach Road in Lake George (not Glens Falls).

Glens Falls does not have its own Amtrak station, but two nearby stations provide convenient access to rail service:

  • Saratoga Springs Station: 26 Station Lane, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866 Station building with waiting room and ticketing

To reach Fort Edward, take CDTA Route 404.

To get to Saratoga Springs, CDTA’s Route 713 connects Ridge Street Terminal to the Saratoga Rail Station via I-87 on weekdays.

Both stations serve Amtrak’s Ethan Allen Express and Adirondack lines, with connections to Albany, NYC, and beyond.
