About this event

This 40-minute chamber work for two voices and piano follows a phone call between Sam, a lonely young adult struggling to connect, and Rory, a volunteer social worker with challenges of their own. The opera reflects the emotional complexity and isolation often experienced by those who feel out of step with conventional social expectations.

Drawing from his own experience as an Autistic artist, Carroll wrote Troubleshooting to explore themes of loneliness, communication, and the human need for connection. While rooted in deeply personal truths, the piece speaks to anyone who has ever felt unseen or misunderstood, and offers hope, validation, and moments of unexpected joy.

Featuring:

  • Camilla Sepulveda and Cameron Moore as Sam
  • Jake Huerter and Claudia Hetzer as Rory
  • Veronica Allen, Pianist
  • Directed by Ella Neubauer
  • Music Direction by Areli Mendoza-Pannone
  • Produced by Mark Evans
