Introduction
Queensbury has a successful sixth form with around 100 students. We offer a wide range of subject options including A Levels and Level 3 BTEC awards. Students are able to choose from 28 different subjects, in addition to the option of Finance in Year 12 and EPQ in Year 13.
Students are supported with their post 18 options, whether that is Higher Education, apprenticeships or employment. Each student has a tutor who can assist with this process, in addition to the impartial careers service.
Students in the Sixth Form have access to a dedicated Common Room and use the library and study areas, allowing them to effectively use study time to complete their work.
In addition to teacher expertise, there are a wide range of extra-curricular and enrichment activities available for students. Subject areas run educational visits to support their students’ learning and understanding of the course content.
Sixth formers play an active role in the wider life of the Academy: through various student leadership opportunities and also by volunteering to support our younger students. This makes Queensbury a particularly enjoyable and rewarding school in which to pursue Sixth Form studies.
Please see our prospectus for more information on course choice and content. If you would like to visit the Academy for a tour, then please do get in contact.
