Richard Thompson - Vice Chair of Local Governing Body - Term of Office June 2017 - 2021 Richard joined the local governing body in July 2017. Formerly a business development manager in the manufacturing sector, he is currently a senior policy advisor in the Civil Service and brings to the governing body a range of experience in project management, risk assessment, and policy development. His ambition as a governor is to work with the school and the rest of the governing body to help Queensbury transition from a good to an outstanding school which provides an excellent education and an inspiring learning environment for students of all abilities, backgrounds, and aspirations. |

Janette Bright - Local Staff Governor - Term of Office October 2016-2020 Janette is the local staff governor and joined the local governing body of the academy at its start. She has worked at the school since 1998. Her roles include managing student support centre, cover, supporting the children in care and working with the safeguarding lead. Janette served as a governor for many years at a lower school in Houghton Regis so has experience in the role. Janette wants to see all children achieving the best they can in a safe, supportive environment. |

Geoffrey Brown - Local Community Governor - Term of Office December 2018-2022 Geoff joined the local governing body in December 2014. Geoff has worked in the education sector for more than fifteen years, both in the civil and military areas. His job role was Learning and Development Adviser with responsibility for overseeing and monitoring the teaching activities at a Defence college. Geoff was part of the senior management team and was responsible for the management of the development of instructors. Geoff has a particular interest in ensuring that students with special educational needs and disabilities receive appropriate support and he has taken on the governors’ responsibility for SEND. |
Jon Driver - Chair of Governors. Term of office July 2019 - July 2023 Jon joined the local governing body in July 2019. Jon has worked in the higher education sector for 10 years, in the areas of international business development, governance, and regulatory compliance management. As a former pupil of Queensbury he is conscious of the impact the school has on the lives of those living in the local community; his ambition for the school is to see it fulfil its potential as a transformative institution, both for its pupils and for the town and surrounding area. |
